Since September 29, 2007, "Microsoft Windows Home server" is becoming popular little by little with home consumer and small officer a.k.a. SOHO ( small office/home office ) in Japan. In the beginning, because there was only English-language version of the OS (which means "NOT Japanese edition"), I guess, it couldn't get so much visibility with the public as expected. But in the following year, since the Japanese version was released on August 30, 2008, it's steadily becoming the underground boom because of eliminating language barrier and getting a low price on it (especially, after down in price by price revision).
Talking of Windows Home Server in Japan, it's always compared to NAS(Network Attached Storage), but, not really.
Not only, there're ease of use and extendability by "add-ins" because Windows Home Server is customized to the public at large.
But also, Windows Home Server is the operating system based on Windows Server 2003 R2 which some functions is removed from. So, using IIS(Internet Information Services) as one of the functions on Windows Home Server,we can even create an original website on own installed PC.
Windows-Home-Server-based PC is what can be used with being brought up.
